Kids & Camping: The interview

I have had several people ask me how my kids do with camping. Do they like it, what kind of things do they think are fun. So I decided to interview them and ask all the burning kids and camping questions. Enjoy their answers!
Out of all the places we have been, where has been your favorite?
Elwood: South Dakota, the Black Hills.
What was your favorite thing in the Black Hills and why?
E: Mt Rushmore because it is a peice of our country's history.

Dempsey: Itasca State Park & Indiana
Whay was your favorite thing about these places?
D: Foggy mornings and the pond with turtles & frogs.

Where do you want to go next? Why?
E: Caves, caves and more caves! Caves are amazing and there could be animals inside.
D: The Grand Canyon! I want to see mountain goats climbing across the walls.

Why do you like camping?
E: Meeting new friends, finding new places to explore and seeing new animals I have not seen before.
D: Its just fun! We get to see new places and meet new people.
What is the most boring part of camping?
E: Leaving.
D: Leaving.
What is your favorite camping food?
E: The color changing marshmallows we got in Illinois.
D: Pasties in Michigan!
What is your favorite thing to do while camping?
E: I like to go in the water. Lakes, rivers or whatever.
D: I like climbing trees.
What do you like most about our camper?
E: My bunk!
D: Our bunks!
We have some land down in South Dakota, what is our favorite thing there?
E: 4-wheelers, I hope we get our own soon!
D: It is spacious and we usually get the playground all to ourselves.
Well, there you have it folks, camping from the prospective of Elwood (9) and Dempsey (11). We are so happy to provide these experiences for our kids. I believe there are so many beautiful and awe inspiring places to see in every state. We have a location wish list a mile long!
